Movies at the Cemetery

It's that time of year again where I get emails from HOLLYWOOD FOREVER.  They are advertising the Summer Season of watching movies in the graveyard.  They are usually very classic movies or iconic.

It probably sounds strange and especially for me.  My dad is buried there.  I think the whole concept is a bit curious and I often wonder what my dad would have said had he known about it.  He was a strict Catholic and death is taken very seriously.

It seems a bit disrespectful, but then again the people there are dead.  I know that this cemetery allows a lot of movies and television shows to film their crypt or graveyard scenes there.  I have seen it numerous times like on NCIS and Desperate Housewives.

I guess that's what you get for being buried in Hollywood.  It is a great spot for celebrity sightings albeit they are dead.  You will find the grandest of burial sights for Douglas Fairbanks with a long reflection pool.  Right across from there is Johnny Ramone in a full bust of him playing the guitar, as well as many others.

Hooray for Hollywood!
